Nice, but you are paying for the brand
I had researched for a long time to find the perfect winter jacket. A jacket that could take over my old comfy and warm jackets space. A jacket that was neat and presentable, was wind and watertight and that could keep me warm, both while cycling and standing still, waiting for the bus or trains.
All this meets the PAtagonia jacket.
However, there are some simple annoyances.
The jacket closes not 100% up on the chin - One thing that makes you have to have a little cravat or a scarf on .
Also, if you are wearing a black cotton shirt, there are many tiny feathers from the inside jacket stuck in the shirt - this means you have to spend time to remove them and your blouse can decidedly look ugly or messy after you have had the jacket on.
BEsides that, I think that you pay inordinately much for a product that actually can be found cheaper and can be the same.
I bought mine with a 25% discount (total 410 €) but yet still feel that I could have made a better deal at other jackets I tried.
